AmaZulu have extended Marc Van Heerden’s stay with the Durban-based side by handing the defender a new five-year deal. The player’s contract with Usuthu was due to expire in June.
The KwaZulu-Natal side tied the player down on a new long-term deal, as a sign of appreciation for his loyal service to the club over the years. Van Heerden has made the left-back position his own at AmaZulu in the many years he has been with the club.
The defender first arrived at the club in 2008, having previously played for the University of Pretoria in the NFD.
Van Heerden’s agent, Ryan Hartslief, confirmed to Soccer Laduma that Van Heerden has agreed to a new five-year deal, with the 26-year-old having attended a trial with Swedish side Orebro SK earlier this year.
AmaZulu confirmed that the club has also extended Bongani Ndulula’s stay in Durban by another season.
