Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be in talks with Ajax Cape Town as they look to freshen up the midfield with one of their South African youth internationals before the start of the season. The Siya crew reported almost a year ago that Masandawana had earmarked the 21-year-old as a target, however they were unable to get a deal done as the Urban Warriors looked to try and secure an immediate return to the Absa Premiership. Now though, with Sundowns eager to refresh things after a long 2018/19, the crew has been led to believe that talks are ongoing as they look to snap up the Ajax academy graduate for the new season. While the player's agent, Ntobatsi Masegela, would not confirm whether discussions between the clubs were happening, he did say, "I've been having conversations with Sundowns' top management regarding their plans for Grant if he was to move, about what are the plans that have been put in place, because remember we have the Olympic qualifiers soon." It remains to be seen at this point whether a deal will be hashed out between the involved parties, though the player will be eager to remain out of it for as long as possible so that he can focus on helping make sure David Notoane's side will be representing the country in Japan.
