Chiefs Form A Players Committee

Reigning Absa Premiership champions, Kaizer Chiefs have formed a committee of seven players as they seek to elect a new captain to lead the team ahead of the 2015/16 campaign.
The Amakhosi saw both captains in Itumeleng Khune and Tefu Mashamaite exit the cub after their contracts expired at the Naturena-based outfit.
Responding to the Siya crew as to who will be the next skipper of the team, coach Steve Komphela said the captain will come from this committee.
He said they will choose three out of the seven who will be the captains for next season.
"I can't say who will be the captain at the moment or who the seven players in the leaders committee are. They will be announced at the right time in the right forum but what will happen is that the captain will come from that committee," Komphela explained.
The Amakhosi will look to wrap this up sooner rather than later, as Komphela prepares his charges for their MTN8 Cup defence against Maritzburg United on August 5.
It remains to be seen which players will make the cut, though senior players like Siphiwe Tshabalala, who captained the side against Mbabane Swallows in the recent King’s Super Cup, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Willard Katsande, Tsepo Masilela and Siboniso Gaxa could be part of the list.
