Bafana Bafana captain, Dean Furman has revealed what South Africa lacked at the African Cup of Nations and sent a message to Mzansi’s faithful.
The 26-year-old scored two goals in four days for Doncaster Rovers and helped his side to climb into the promotion playoff places.
When asked what his message to Bafana fans would be after the AFCON disappointment, Furman responded: “Continue to support us!”
“I think a lot of people who watched the three games that we played clapped for our performances and that’s something that stood out for me.”
The Bafana skipper also revealed that the national team perhaps lacked experience after giving away a 1-0 lead in all three AFCON games.
“We played with a very young team and maybe lacked a little bit of experience,” he added.
“But we definitely learned from this experience and going forward, we will definitely be stronger as individuals as well as a team.”
