FIFA has announced the final world rankings for the 2019 calendar year, and revealed which country walked away with the Team of the Year crown!
On Thursday, world football's governing body revealed its final rankings for 2019, in which Belgium once again came out on top. The Red Devils, who recorded a record-breaking campaign in terms of FIFA's ranking calculations, were also crowned Team of the Year for the second successive year.
Reigning world champions France remain in the second place, ahead of Brazil and England who have maintained their respective third and fourth-place standings in FIFA's December rankings.
The remainder of the top 10 consists of a mix of European and South America nations, with Uruguay, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Argentina and Colombia rounding out the cream of the crop.
Qatar, who will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup, were named the "Movers of the Year" after climbing a year-high 38 places in 2019, while Africa Cup of Nations champions Algeria climbed 32 places over the course of the year and currently rank 35th.
Senegal remain Africa's best-placed nation, with the AFCON 2019 runners-up holding firm in 20th place, while South Africa climbed one spot to 71st. You can see the top 10 nations by scrolling through the gallery above!
