It can be said that Mamelodi Sundowns fans are accustomed to seeing new faces turn out for their team and with Erwin Saavedra on the way, supporters have already welcomed the Bolivian star.
What's the story?
The Bolivian midfielder will reportedly make the switch to Chloorkop with a price tag in excess of R10 million, as Downs look to bolster their squad for the remainder of the 21/22 season.
Saavedra plied his trade for Bolivar for 10 years, the same side Gaston Sirino was spotted at. The tricky midfielder recently opened up on his move to South Africa, saying that he was grateful to those who had noticed his football.
South America has been a happy hunting ground for Sundowns in recent years, acquiring talents that have gone onto make waves in South African football.
South American Stars
Names such as Leonardo Castro, Ricardo Nascimento and Gaston Sirino have all made the long trip from South America and subsequently found success with the Brazilians.
That being said, fans have been left excited at the prospect of seeing the Bolivian international in action, as Saavedra will add a different dimension to their midfield set-up. As seen by various highlight packages on social media, Saavedra comes in with leadership attributes, flair and long range shoot abilities.
