With Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos trimming down his squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers, a fan made the point of the mentor selecting players who can 'grind out' results.
What's the story?
The process of selecting players for the national team has always divided opinions, particularly among fans, who want to see Bafana Bafana do well at the end of the day.
Broos recently named his final squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia next month, trimming the names down from 34 to 23.
Lakay Coetzee
A large chunk of the fan base questioned Broos' selections, with many feeling players like Lyle Lakay and Rivaldo Coetzee have been doing well enough at club level to earn them a spot in a national team.
However, a fan by the name of Avuyile Tay Tyani, took to the Soccer Laduma Facebook account under the 'Bafana Names Final 23-Man Squad To Take On Ehtiopia' and mentioned that Broos selected the right players.''
Grinding Out Results
Tyani said, "Very good squad by our coach. He selected players which he knows will grind out results and play for the jersey.
"Abo Zwane they may be in form but every time they wear the Bafana jersey they always disappoint, so it's great that the coach is selecting his own squad."
