While Reneilwe Letsholonayne came out and said that its too early to talk about a title race, a fan disagreed with the legend's sentiments and mentioned that Mamelodi Sundowns already look the part.
What's the story?
As a team who have been dominating the local game in recent years, Sundowns hit the ground running in the 2021/22 PSL campaign. Downs currently lead the way on the log standings and are yet to lose a match in the DStv Premiership. Also showcasing a solid defence, the Chloorkop side are yet to concede a goal in the league.
Yeye's Thoughts
The Brazilians are on course to win their fifth league trophy in a row, as they continue to set the standard in South African football.
PSL legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane, who recently hung up his boots, mentioned that despite Downs showing early promise, that its still too early to begin title talk dialogues.
Yeye mentioned that there are still 25 matches to play and that the challenge now would be for the rest of the league to challenge the well-oiled machine in Sundowns.
Already A Force
That being said, a fan by the name of Cebolenkosi Sizwe S'biya commented under a Soccer Laduma Facebook post which highlighted Yeye's sentiments and mentioned that Sundowns are already showing signs of being unstoppable.
S'biya said, "With Sundowns it never too early this team has been dominating PSL for the past 6 or 5 seasons"
"After round 5 matches played in DStv premier league they are showing signs of being unstoppable."
