With Ghana crashing out of the Africa Cup of Nations following a humiliating defeat to Comoros, the South African football social media did not hold back. Have a look!
What's the story?
In what was an eventful Group C tie on Tuesday in Garoua, Comoros produced one of the shocks of the tournament so far. Considered to be minnows against the four-time winners of the tournament, Comoros came out on top after a 3-2 win over the Black Stars.
More Controversy
Andre Ayew, who was a big talking point ahead of the tie, was sent off midway through the first half, which added to Ghana's woes early on.
That being said, South African social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram blew up after the match, as fans began talking after the match.
Karma?
Much of the discussion stemmed from South Africa's crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ghana back in November 2021. The Black Stars beat Bafana Bafana 1-0 on the night, following a controversial penalty that was awarded.
At the time, supporters voiced their discontent at the referees decision and now with Ghana tumbling out of the AFCON, many felt that karma took its course.
Here are some of the responses:
