With the Royal AM club officials under the spotlight for their on field bonus saga, supporters have weight in on the controversy, with some deeming it as showing off.
What's the story?
Royal AM are currently riding the wave of favourable results going their way, after starting the DStv Premiership season on a slow note. The Durban side recorded four wins on the trot and are now in third spot on the league standings.
In their most recent win over Maritzburg United, which in itself was a game filled with much drama, the club rocked the local football fraternity with events that happened after the final whistle was blown.
Causing A Stir
The KZN side's officials were seen walking on the pitch and handed out cash bonuses to the players, with some show reluctance to the gesture which proved to be a massive talking point on social media after the match.
That said, a local football fan by the name of Wandile Crespo Sidelo took to the Soccer Laduma Facebook page under the 'The New Wave – Controversial Royal AM Drop Racks On Field After Latest Win'story and mentioned that what the club did was unnecessary.
A Show Off
Sidelo mentioned, "Was there some wrong with paying their players bonuses? No... Was Mamkhize trying to get back at the haters who said she didn't have money to pay her players? Maybe.... But the players were visibly unhappy with what went down.
"Which I think is unnecessary considering the form they are in, was an unnecessary show off."
