Readers Voice: 'Let's Not Overhype Bafana Bafana'

Readers Voice: 'Let's Not Overhype Bafana Bafana'

Despite a morale boosting victory against Ghana in their most recent FIFA World Cup qualifier, some Bafana Bafana fans have called for calm as the national team look to maintain their form for the remainder of their task.

Wha's the story?

A Bafana Bafana victory, much like that of against Ghana recently, is something the supporters bask in given that the national team have continually looked to building a side that can compete continentally.

Qualifying Course

Coach Hugo Broos fielded a young Bafana outfit against Ghana recently, with Bafana Bafana coming out on tops in a 1-0 win at the FNB stadium. The boys from Mzansi now top their group after two games played and will hope to stay there for the remainder of their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

However, some fans have called for calm after the result, mentioning that South Africa have been in this position before.

Been There Before

In leaving a comment under the 'Mzansi Is Hopeful Of Bafana' Facebook post, a fan by the name of Mncedi Curnick Nxadi said, "Let's not over hype these guys cause they were not really tested against Ghana and we are in a very good position only if we can maintain our plans of topping the group by winning all our home games and fight hard for a draw or a win away."

A supporter by the name of Sanele Shinga mentioned, "Similar situation as AFCON qualifiers, they were promising like this and where are they?"

Have your say…

Do you think Bafana have what it takes?
