For years, Orlando Pirates have been rumoured to be interested in the services of Bafana and Bidvest Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo. However, this SL Supporter thinks Bucs should cast their net elsewhere.
Tyson's talent is undoubtable, having been an astute professional since joining Ajax Cape Town almost a decade ago.
His performances for Ajax soon caught the attention Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates but it was the Clever Boys who won the race for his signature.
Since then, fans have urged Pirates to gun for Hlatshwayo's signature, a story that has been ongoing for the last few seasons.
However, SL Supporter @Sobz Ndabs feels that Pirates should be looking for a more youthful defender that would be an investment for the future, whereas Tyson would be a short-term solution.
"I really don't understand why Pirates keeps on chasing aging Hlatshwayo whereas there's a lot of young capable central defenders in SA and in the continent. We missed the opportunity to sign him up when he was still at Ajax and now Wits seems to be reluctant to release him and have financial muscles to do that. My worry is that, out of this desperation we're going to chase the man until Wits decides to not renew his contract because of age that may resulted to the drop in his contribution."
