As the DStv Compact Cup draws ever closer, fans voiced their opinion, particularly over the Mamelodi Sundowns contingent in the tournament. Check it out!
What's the story?
In what will be something different for local football fans, the DStv Compact Cup will afford some of the best players in the PSL to play alongside each other.
Fans had the chance to vote for the players they want to see in four different sides (Coastal Inland). In a knockout format of two semi-finals, a final and a third and fourth place play-off, the action will commence this weekend at the Moses Mabhida stadium.
Fantastic Four
First up, Coastal United will battle with Dinaledi, while Warriors FC will take on Amabutho in the second semi-final on Saturday.
At Chloorkop, Kabelo Moagi, Reyaad Pieterse, Kermit Erasmus, Rushine De Reuck, Gift Motupa, Lesedi Kapinga, Ricardo Goss and Gaston Sirino will go into the DStv Compact Cup as the Sundowns representatives.
Beneficial Tournament?
In taking to Sundowns Twitter handle, fans had much to say about the tournament and also, who of the Brazilians stars' who were voted in. On the one end, some supporters felt like there was no need for the competition while the others looked forward to seeing the stars who struggle for game time at the club.
