While not all youth academy players make it through the ranks to represent their club at first team level, some Kaizer Chiefs fans have lamented the team's choice of letting certain development products go.
What's the story?
Ahead of the 21/22 season, Chiefs made a number of high-profile signings that included names such as Keagan Dolly, Cole Alexander and Brandon Petersen.
Also, on the outgoings front, the club bid farewell to midfield star Willard Katsande, with the Zimbabwean closing a 10 year chapter with the Glamour Boys as one of their star midfielders since 2011.
Leaving Naturena
That being said, Chiefs recently took to their social media accounts in announcing that they had released three of their development products, subsequently making them free to join teams of their choice.
Earlier this week, Amakhosi tweeted, "Former Kaizer Chiefs development players Ayanda Rorwana, Sizwe Twala and Itumeleng Shopane have been released and cleared to join teams of their choice.
"We wish them well."
As expected, the news gained much traction online, with a number of fans not entirely happy about the player movements.
Here are some of the reactions:
This Development should be closed, it doesn't seems to be barring us any positivity current. Plus the current coach doesn't see any use of young players
