Bafana Bafana head coach, Shakes Mashaba continues to snub two of the most consistent performers this past season, Mamelodi Sundowns' Teko Modise and Kaizer Chiefs' Tsepo Masilela.
The two players are yet to represent Bafana since Mashaba took over from Gordon Igesund, although Masilela was recently called up but couldn't join the team due to an injury. Mashaba has been under fire from a section of the supporters who believed the two players deserved to be part of the national team set-up even if they're not guaranteed places in the team.
This afternoon, with almost everyone expecting to see the two players form part of the team after successful campaigns for their respective clubs, the snub continued as both players were missing from Mashaba's squad list.
Modise walked away with the Absa Premiership Midfielder of the Season and Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament awards at the end of the season. Footballer of the Season, Tefu Mashamaite made the squad after being overlooked in recent times.
Bafana start their 2017 Afcon qualifiers campaign by hosting Gambia at Moses Mabhida stadium on June 13 before facing Angola in an international friendly in Cape Town, four days later.
