How Many Trophies Have Real Won Since 1990?

Real Madrid's downward trend in their trophy accumulation is nothing new. It is a fact, the club's success in the 20th century has not carried through over the past 25 years.

Let's have a look and compare Real's trophies since 1990 to other European giants.

FC Barcelona:42 competitive trophies (13X La Liga; 6X Copa Del Rey; 10X Supercopa De España; 5X UEFA Champions League; 1X UEFA Cup Winners' Cup; 5X UEFA Super Cup; 2X FIFA Club World Cup)

Manchester United:39 competitive trophies (13X Premier League; 5X FA Cup; 4X League Cup; 11X FA Community Shield [including 2X shared]; 2X UEFA Champions League; 1X UEFA Cup Winners' Cup; 1X UEFA Super Cup; 1X Intercontinental Cup; 1X FIFA Club World Cup)

Bayern Munich:38 competitive trophies (14X Bundesliga; 9X DFB-Pokal; 3X DFB-Supercup; 6X DFB-Ligapokal; 2X UEFA Champions League; 1X UEFA Cup;  1X UEFA Super Cup; 1X Intercontinental Cup; 1X FIFA Club World Cup)

Real Madrid:27competitive trophies (8X La Liga; 3X Copa Del Rey; 7X Supercopa De Espana; 4X UEFA Champions League; 2X UEFA Super Cup; 2X Intercontinental Cup; 1X FIFA Club World Cup)

AC Milan:21 competitive trophies(7X Serie A; 1X Coppa Italia; 3X Supercoppa Italiana; 4X UEFA Champions League; 4X UEFA Super Cup; 1X Intercontinental Cup; 1X FIFA Club World Cup)

Simply put, Real Madrid have not been able to keep up with their biggest European rivals. Even though it's only Barcelona that have won more UEFA Champions League's over the past 25 years than Real Madrid, the comparative standards of overall competitive silverware accumulation see Los Merengues falling behind almost all of their major rivals – particularly FC barcelona.

After being disqualified from the Copa del Rey, Real risk another trophyless season and it's questionable whether president Perez and coach Benitez will survive.

Do you think Real will lift silverware this campaign?
