Orlando Pirates put on a sterling performance when they beat Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Supporters Club's Lerato Mkhondo caught up with Bucs fan Thembani Dyani, who seems to not be fazed by Buccaneer's thrilling win, saying he doesn't think they have what it takes to contend for the league title this season.
Lerato: Buccaneer! Exciting game between your team and Sundowns on Saturday. Your thoughts on it?
Thembani: Look it was a great game of football, just exactly what the fans wanted to see and went to the stadium for. The only bad thing about that game was the defending of both teams, it was so bad, and two of the Pirates goals were a result of sloppy defending from Sundowns. As for Orlando Pirates, I was really surprised by the performance they showed on Saturday because I expected a defeat, but the guys showed great determination and walked away with all the points.
There was a lot of missed and wasted chances, the game could've even ended 5-5. It reminded me of the first round game in Orlando that Sundowns won 3-1, Laffor missed a sitter that took me back to Qalinge's in Orlando, it's like the tables were turned. But overall it was a lovely game and I'm happy that Pirates won. I hope it will boost us going forward even though I don't believe we're title challengers but it's a good win to build on going forward.
Do you think Bucs will challenge for the league title this season?
