Even though Orlando Pirates have been rather quiet during the transfer window so far, the Bucs faithful remain hopeful that their beloved team will eventually make some great signings before deadline day.
Supporters Club's Lerato Mkhondo caught up with loyal Bucs fan Mthandazo Nkomo, who is also known as "Ghost" among fellow supporters, and he urged fellow fans of the Soweto giants to be patient, and has no doubt that they will sign Jeremy Brockie.
Lerato: Eita, Ghost! Many of the Buccaneers faithful are quite frustrated that your team has not made many signings so far in the transfer window. How do you feel?
Mthandazo: Pirates are probably still working on the Brockie deal. They must just be patient. When all is done and dusted, the club will definitely make an official announcement.
Lerato: What's the deal with Brockie, you all seem to be confident about getting him aboard?
Mthandazo: It's quite obvious he is coming to join our team. We are getting him, for sure. That is why the team has been quiet because they know we want him and are probably doing all they can to deliver.
Lerato: There's the possibility of Lyle Foster being part of the Brockie deal, though. Your thoughts?
Mthandazo: He's young and I believe that SuperSport United is the perfect team to nurture his talent and grow his confidence. Thing is, Pirates are a big team and Foster is swimming with big fishes. You know how it gets with teams like Pirates and Chiefs. Supporters expect you to deliver and if you mess up, they will drag you like nobody's business. Foster is too young to be exposed to such for now. So a move on loan to Matsatsantsa would be perfect for him.
Lerato: Great. Anything else?
Mthandazo: Yes, please! If (Irvin) Khoza can get us Brilliant Khuzwayo, please. I mean it has been proven that he will never be first-choice goalkeeper with (Itumeleng) Khune still at Chiefs. He is not playing and we don't have a goalkeeper, so why not? (Joseph) Mabokgwane and (Wayne) Sandilands have proven to be average keepers. We need a goalkeeper we can rely on.
