The dreaded promotion/relegation play-offs are in full swing. Some teams have a foot in the door as they stare up into the glimmer of hope of the good life in the ABSA Premiership, while other teams, such as Tuks, can feel their grip slipping as they move closer to the black hole of the NFD. How do their supporters feel in this frightening time?
"I can feel that we are almost in hell. There is a sense around Pretoria, it's horrible. It is like everyone has just returned from a funeral."
These were the words of David Mashatile, University of Pretoria student and loyal Tuks supporter.
"We knew, after this weekend's game, that we were in trouble. Highlands Park took no prisoners, they deserved it, but they have really hammered a nail in our coffin."
Tuks went down by a single goal to Highlands Park on Saturday, making this their second loss in the play-offs and giving them a very slim chance of being in the PSL next year. In all likelihood, Shaun Bartlett will be back in the NFD next season, unfortunately. Some of his supporters, such as David, will follow him there, but they seem to have an undying faith and belief in the former Bafana Bafana star and the team.
"Yes, we are most likely going down to the NFD next season, it will be very difficult. It is not the same, very little TV coverage and lots of corruption," David continued.
"Anyway, we stand by our fearless leader Shaun Bartlett, he will pull us out of the depths of hell."
Who would you like to see in the PSL next season? Do you think Bartlett can keep Tuks' PSL hopes alive?
