Cape Town City continue their CAF Champions League journey against  Petro de Luanda in the second preliminary round this evening.

The Citizens made it into the second preliminary round after overcoming Congolese side Otoho d'Oyo 2-0 on aggregate in the first preliminary round.

The Mother City were in DStv Premiership action on Tuesday evening as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Golden Arrows.

Petro, on the other hand, cruised to the second preliminary round after thumping Mozambican side Black Bulls Maputo 5-1 on aggregate.

The Angolan Girabola 2022/23 season only started towards the end of last month and Petro, the defending champions, are top of the log after winning their first two matches.

The Luanda-based outfit reached the semi-finals of this tournament last season after knocking out Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals win but they could not reach the final after losing out to Wydad Casablanca 4-2 on aggregate.
