Mamelodi Sundowns will be under pressure to extend their perfect start in the Betway Premiership when they visit Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

After booking their spot in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals with a 5-0 demolition of Golden Arrows, thanks to goals by Thapelo Morena, Iqraam Rayners, Mothobi Mvala, Peter Shalulile and Kutlwano Letlhaku.

Sundowns extended their perfect start in the league to four matches after edging Royal AM 2-1 in midweek thanks to goals in either half by Sphelele Mkhulise and Khuliso Mudau.

The Brazilians are lying second on the log, three points behind leaders Orlando Pirates.

The Tshwane giants will be without Lucas Ribeiro Costa due to suspension.

Polokwane, on the other hand, will be looking to rediscover their early season form, as after winning their first two games, Rise and Shine only collected one point from their last two after a 3-0 defeat to Pirates and a 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch.

City, who were knocked out of the Carling Knockout round of 16 after a 3-2 loss to Marumo Gallants, are lying seventh on the log, after accumulating seven points.
