As the focus this weekend will be on the cup competition finals, there are still some league matches that will be taking place in the Italian Serie A as well as LaLiga.

Barcelona having already clinched the Spanish title will be going into their encounter against Eibar away in what will be a dead rubber for the Catalans. However, the home side will want to end their season at home with a victory in the bag to end off in a respectable manner.

Former Orlando Pirates player, Nkosinathi Mqobongo shared his predictions on the fixtures that are set to take place. Do you agree with his choices?

Sassuolo v Roma (Serie A)

Match 4 Soccer 6 Pool 18 May S6 V3 P2

League Rankings: Sassuolo 10th Roma 6th

Useful facts: It being the business end of the season, both teams will be out to collect maximum points, but it's advantage Roma if one looks at the fact that Sassuolo have struggled a bit in defence this season – they have conceded 57 goals in 36 matches, 10 more than their opponents. Roma's 2-0 win over champions Juventus last weekend will have boosted their morale ahead of this tie, while Sassuolo will want the wrongs of the past weekend, where they lost 3-2 to Torino, playing the better part of the game with 10 men. Roma won the first round tie between the two teams, back in December last year, by 3-1.

Nkosinathi Mqobongo: Roma win

Espanyol v Real Sociedad (LaLiga)

Match 5 Soccer 6 Pool 18 May S6 V3 P2

League Rankings: Espanyol 9th Real Sociedad 8th

Useful facts: Both teams are sitting on 50 points, so this one is delicately poised and could go either way. Real Sociedad registered a victory over Real Madrid last weekend and come into this one in high spirits and are eyeing seventh spot on the standings, but Espanyol also harbour the same ambition, having also won against Leganes on the weekend. The only real difference between the two teams is that Espanyol have conceded 50 goals, while Real Sociedad have let in 44 goals, otherwise in every other aspect they are not too different. When the two sides last met, in January, Real Sociedad won 3-2, and there's a feeling this upcoming game will be just as closely-contested.

Nkosinathi Mqobongo: Draw

Eibar v Barcelona (LaLiga)

Match 6 Soccer 6 Pool 18 May S6 V3 P2

League Rankings: Eibar 12th Barcelona 1st

Useful facts: This is a dead rubber game, with Barcelona already having clinched the league title. However, there is pride to play for and Barcelona will want to end the campaign off on a good note. Eibar will go for a win, because a loss might mean they could slip down the league table depending on what happens in the other games. Their loss to Villareal last Sunday has made things a bit tougher for them and they need to bounce back. Not an easy task even against a Barcelona side that are champions-elect – that's just how good the visitors are. The last time the two teams met, in January, Barcelona won 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Luis Suarez and a Lionel Messi strike.

Nkosinathi Mqobongo: Barcelona win
