Eighth-placed Highlands Park will play hosts to Polokwane City this coming weekend after drawing 1-1 away against Cape Town City earlier this week.

The Lions of the North come up against a Jozef Vukusic side that are playing well collectively and are hunting for maximum points to climb up the log table as they are currently in sixth position.

Former Orlando Pirates central midfielder, Gerald Modabi got in on this week's league action around the world, giving his predictions on the Highlands Park and Polokwane City match as well as others.

Do you agree with Modabi's choices?

Highlands Park v Polokwane City (Premier Soccer League)

Match 2 Soccer 6 Pool27 April S6 V1 P2

League Rankings: Highlands Park 8th Polokwane City 5th

Useful facts: Highlands Park dropped two points at home when they drew 1-1 with Free State Stars last Wednesday and, sitting in eighth position, will desperately want to hang on to their spot in the top half of the table. In Polokwane City, though, they are up against the surprise package of the season, who have even been touted by some as dark horses for the league title. Although playing at home, one thing's for sure, if the Lions of the North come up with a lacklustre performance, they will be duly punished by Rise and Shine, who are playing well as a team and have been quietly collecting the points. Peter Shalulile has been Highlands Park's go-to man in recent matches and will again be key for Owen da Gama's side.

Gerald Modabi: Polokwane City win

Crystal Palace v Everton (English Premier League)

Match 3 Soccer 6 Pool27 April S6 V1 P2

League Rankings:Crystal Palace 12th Everton 7th

Useful facts:Everton were at their marauding best against Manchester United last Sunday, handing the Red Devils a 4-0 defeat. It is a result that will have Crystal Palace worried going into the two teams' fixture this coming Saturday. But unfortunately for the visitors, there is too much of a points gap between them and Man United, who are a position above them on the log standings, and so the best they could finish at is number seven, where they currently are. However, they will still want to finish the season on a high, with their pride intact. Just as well, Crystal Palace claimed a big scalp themselves on Sunday, with a 3-2 victory over Arsenal. Playing at home, they will be keen to get the momentum going, with a chance to move up at least one position in the standings.

Gerald Modabi: Crystal Palace win

Watford v Wolverhampton (English Premier League)

Match 4 Soccer 6 Pool27 April S6 V1 P2

League Rankings: Watford 8th Wolverhampton 10th

Useful facts: The two teams face off just two weeks after doing battle against each other in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, where Watford emerged triumphant with a 3-2 score line. That will give them a lot of confidence to overcome their opponents once more in this league encounter. They will also be keen to hold on to their place in the Top Eight of the standings. Wolverhampton, for their part, have a tricky tie against Arsenal on Wednesday evening and will want to have claimed a big scalp before enacting revenge on the home side come Saturday.

Gerald Modabi: Watford win
