The Nedbank Cup quarter-final round will be intense this coming weekend after the first match of this round was played out on Wednesday evening that saw Cape Umoya United falling short against TS Galaxy.
With the first team having secured a spot in the next round of the tournament, the remaining clubs will be looking to join Dan Malesela and his charges.
This week, former Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder, Lehumo Itshegetseng got in on the encounters that will be taking place around the world. Here are the teams that he picked as winners. Do you agree with him?
Match of the Week
Bloemfontein Celtic v Golden Arrows (Nedbank Cup)
Soccer 6 Pool: Match 1 Soccer 6 Pool 30 March S6 V2 P1
League Rankings: Bloemfontein Celtic 8th Golden Arrows 10th
Useful facts: The name Steve Komphela will be central to the build-up to this game, as he squares up against his former side. He has somewhat revived the fortunes of Golden Arrows, who must be aiming for a Top Eight finish in the league, and will be aware that a win on Saturday will keep the momentum going and the camp happy. That he knows almost all the Bloemfontein Celtic players, including their strengths and weaknesses, will be to his advantage. However, there is more to preparing for a game of football than just scratching the surface and Abafana Bes'thende will be aware that getting a positive result against Siwelele will not be an easy task at their home ground. On the other side, a win for Celtic will do a lot to ensure they get some love from their fans, who are not coming out to the stadium in their numbers as they used to. Tshegofatso Mabasa will be the man to watch for the home side, while Wayde Jooste will look to continue from where he left off in their last game, where he scored a last-minute winner against Baroka FC in the league.
Lehumo Itshegetseng: Bloemfontein Celtic win
Udinese v Genoa (Serie A)
Soccer 6 Pool: Match 2 Soccer 6 Pool 30 March S6 V2 P1
League Rankings: Udinese 16th Genoa 12th
Useful facts: It's hard to fathom that Udinese, a great institution in Italian football, occupy a lowly 16th place on the log standings at this stage of the season. Therefore, there will only be one thing on their minds when they square up against Genoa on Saturday: secure a win at all costs. They need to recover from the 4-2 thrashing they received from Napoli in their last league match. Genoa have not been doing that much better, with 13 points separating the two teams and Udinese enjoying a game in hand. The last time the two teams did battle, the result was a 2-2 draw.
Lehumo Itshegetseng: Genoa win
Brighton v Southampton (English Premier League)
Soccer 6 Pool: Match 3 Soccer 6 Pool 30 March S6 V2 P1
League Rankings: Brighton 15th Southampton 16th
Useful facts: It's the battle of the basement dwellers and, with only a handful of matches before the season comes to an end, both sides will regard a win as key to their hopes of moving up the log standings. Southampton have played one game more than their opponents, whom they trail by three points, and so the pressure is on them to conjure up something. The home crowd will not make it any easy for them though, spurring their team on to what they hope will be a victory. When the two sides last met, in September last year, they played to a thrilling 2-2 draw.
