Kaizer Chiefs' Pule Mmodi has been lauded for his resilience after a slow start to his Amakhosi career.

Despite the pressure he was under as goals were hard to come by in the opening stages of the season, Mmodi remained calm and kept on working hard in training and during matches.

The club's head coach Molefi Ntseki kept his cool and continued to field the winger and the 30-year-old repaid his faith by scoring two goals against AmaZulu in the previous match on the weekend as Chiefs registered a convincing 3-0 victory to move up the log.

Mmodi has been encouraged to keep on working on improving on his game to help Chiefs even further in the upcoming matches, with the Soweto giants set to visit the Athlone Stadium on Wednesday night for a clash against Stellenbosch FC.

"It's good for Pule Mmodi that he has opened his goal scoring account for Chiefs as that can only boost his confidence. It's been a tough start for him at the club and things have been hectic but he remained focused while also working hard," said the source.

"He just has to remain grounded and more goals and achievements should come his way and the team. He is a good player and that's why he is in the Bafana Bafana set-up and he just needs to continue working hard. His progress is good for him and Chiefs," the source said.
