Kaizer Chiefs Arthur Zwane expresses concern over Mamelodi Sundowns' firing power

Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Arthur Zwane has lamented the fact that they do not have enough explosive players going into their DSTV Premiership clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Amakhosi ended a four-game losing streak by edging Marumo Gallants 1-0 at FNB Stadium, a victory registered just in time for their crucial Premiership clash against the league winners. While Sundowns have already bagged the title, fourth-placed Amakhosi still have a CAF spot to play for, which makes the clash at FNB Stadium this Sunday a big one for the Soweto giants.

Zwane, however, is concerned that Khama Billiat and Keagan Dolly - two former Sundowns players, are the only two explosive players they have in attacking positions.

"Sundowns are playing more or less a similar style (to Gallants), but they're more deadly and dangerous, because they've got good runners upfront. Players like (Peter) Shalulile and other strikers, who can hold the ball and wait and have other players join in. That's the difference between them, in terms of the quality," said Zwane via the Amakhosi website.

"We are going to have to plan for them, like we planned for this one, and we will see how we can also exploit the space behind Sundowns defence, because we don't have those explosive players in our team at the moment. We only have Khama and Keagan, who is also explosive, but in our number eight and number nine positions we don't have those explosive players. The minute we improve on that aspect we will also be deadly going forward. We will try and work on that," Zwane went on to say.

The game against Sundowns will be the biggest one yet for Zwane since head coach Stuart Baxter left the club. A victory could go a long way in convincing management he is the man to take Amakhosi forward next season.
