Former Orlando Pirates defender Abednego Netshiozwi is confident of a win against SuperSport United in this weekend's eagerly awaited match.
The Buccaneers, who are oozing with confidence after defeating arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs two times already this season in the MNT8, will be aiming for three points against Matsatsantsa at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening to move further up on the DStv Premiership log.
Bucs are currently in 6th place on the log after winning their last match before the FIFA international break against Bloemfontein Celtic.
''If you can look now Pirates is on song and the way I see it Pirates is going to win this one. Pirates is going to win 2-1, that's my prediction. The players are combining very well and if you look at the back, the team is solid defensively. If you look at the new goalkeeper (Richard Ofori) and Tyson (Thulani Hlatshwayo), as well as the new boy who plays right-back (Wayde Jooste), they are doing very well at the back,'' Netshiozwi told the Siya crew.
The former left-back says Matsatsantsa stand no chance to beat Bucs 6-1 again like they did in 2016 at the Mbombela Stadium.
"Look, there is a new coach (Josef Zinnbauer) now and some of the players who are there now were not there during the 6-1 loss. Again, even the assistant coach (Fadlu Davids) wasn't there. This is the new Orlando Pirates team that we are talking about now. The 6-1 drubbing is a thing of the past and it cannot happen again. All that Pirates need to do is to focus on their game and they will win this game easily. If you remember, Pirates won their last game against SuperSport 2-1 (last season's second round league match), but I know this upcoming one is not going to be an easy one, it's going to be a tough game. But like I said, Pirates is going to win,'' Netshiozwi added.
