Yesterday (Saturday), we looked that the ratings of the Bafana stars in the game released before AFCON, with FIFA 96 (released in 1995) seeing the South African players boast fairly average ratings.
However, FIFA 97 arrived in June 1996, just months after South Africa had conquered the continent. And as one would expect, there was an incredible upturn in ratings.

Doctor Khumalo, who had a dismal rating of just 62 in FIFA 96, saw his score rise by over 20 points in FIFA 97.
There was also some notable changes and increases for other players across the board, with a number of players featuring in both games.
Unfortunately, not all of the stars made it into the game, with Andre Arendse, Shaun Bartlett and Mark Fish notably absent from the South African side.
