Several Motsepe Foundation Championship sides are circling Lesotho international goalkeeper Sekhoane Moerane on realizing that Elite division clubs have been all talk and no action regarding their interest in the player.
Following a breathtaking performance when he represented his country in World Cup qualifiers where they held both Nigeria and Benin to stalemates, reports emerged that countless PSL clubs were keeping tabs on Moerane.
However, Soccer Laduma has been informed that none of the Mzansi topflight outfits, except SuperSport United, have made overtures to the Lesotho Mounted Police FC goalminder. According to sources, it has instead been second-tier sides University of Pretoria, log leaders Orbit College and Venda Football Academy that have seemed to be seriously pursuing the 26-year-old.
"Tuks, in particular, came to watch him when the national team played friendly games against Bafana Bafana, where he frustrated the South Africans in a goalless draw, (against) Sekhukhune United and against Mozambique in South Africa recently," revealed a Siya source.
Lesotho have not suspended their league programme because they have not qualified for the ongoing Afcon and a fortnight ago, during a top-of-the-table clash, Moerane stopped a penalty when his club handed log leaders Matlama their first defeat of the season in 15 matches. Furthermore, last week, he was voted Man of the Match as he was in his element as his club handed another championship contender, Bantu FC, a 1-0 defeat.
As a consequence, both Tuks and Orbit have reportedly increased their efforts to sign him, according to Siya sources. Indications are that University of Pretoria coach Tlisane Motaung has been constantly communicating with his club and national coach about the player.
