Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United are understood to have opened talks regarding midfielder Grant Margeman.
The Brazilians sent the player out on loan to their Tshwane rivals at the start of the season having decided against keeping him when he returned from Swallows FC, where he had also spent an entire year to get regular game-time.

Although he made an impressive 23 appearances while with the Dube Birds, indications are that SuperSport had long agreed that Margeman would join them as part of the deal that saw Ronwen Williams and Sipho Mbule go to Downs.
He has again been a stand-out player at SuperSport under Gavin Hunt, missing the two games against his parent club as part of the loan clause as well as one other fixture due to a minor injury – other than that, Margeman has been ever-present.
As a result, SuperSport want to accelerate discussions to make the move permanent and are believed to have engaged Sundowns early.
But any announcement is only expected at the end of the season when both sides assess their respective squads for incomings and outgoings.

Soccer Laduma understands that Matsatsantsa have classified the Margeman talks as one of the pressing matters to ensure that they get a deal over the line long before the start of the 2023/24 campaign.
The fact that he has featured in 19 of their 22 DStv Premiership matches so far is a sign that he is a key player for Hunt.
