SuperSport United have a number of players nearing the end of their contracts, but Soccer Laduma has been informed the club could look at giving one of their attackers an extension.
Indications from sources are that Gamphani Lungu, Kegan Johannes, Mohamed Hamza and Washington Arubi will all be out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
Longer-serving Lungu has been with Matsatsantsa since 2018 and it was confirmed that he signed a new deal with the Tshwane outfit in 2020. Now, that contract he signed almost four years ago is due to expire on June 30.
It is understood that SuperSport coach Gavin Hunt, who is expected to make a number of decisions when the next transfer window opens, is keen on holding onto the 25-year-old, who has been a key part of his plans.
Lungu has often provided cover at right back for the likes of Johannes and, in more recent times, has featured in a more familiar right-wing position. So far this season, he has made 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
Indications are that there could be a long-term deal on the cards for the player who is into his sixth year with the side, with SuperSport believed to have already opened talks with the player's camp over a new contract.
The Zambian was roped in from Power Dynamos, who campaign in his home country's elite division.
