Former Moroka Swallows striker Daniel Gozar has completed a move to Northern Cyprus after spending four years plying his trade in the southernmost tip of Africa. Having arrived in 2019 to join the now-defunct Free State Stars from Ghanaian side Ashanti Gold, he was signed by the Dube Birds in 2020 before being sent to Black Leopards on loan the following year.
The Ghanaian player's time with the side wasn't without controversy as he took them to FIFA over alleged unfair dismissal after he had his contract terminated, as confirmed by his camp at the time.
Now, after almost six months without a club, Gozar has found a new home with Kucuk Kaymakli Turk S.K in North Nicosia. The 29-year-old has signed a two-year deal.
"Daniel Gozar has left South Africa to sign with his new club in Cyprus, Kucuk Kaymakli. He has signed a two-year contract," confirmed a source.
"There have been some outstanding issues for him and his previous club, but that is being taken care of at the highest level through FIFA. The player's focus is on resurrecting his career after some disappointments he has had to deal with," the source concluded.
