Orlando Pirates have had their decision on Thabiso Sesane put on hold after there were plans to send the player on loan again, sources have revealed.
Sesane is yet to play an official match for the Buccaneers this season and indications had been that he would be sent on loan in January.
The defender returned from All Stars at the end of last season, having spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan there before the club's Motsepe Foundation Championship status was sold to the Thidiela family and renamed Black Leopards.
With Jose Riveiro preferring to play seasoned campaigners like Tapelo Xoki, Olisa Ndah and Nkosinathi Sibisi, among others, in central defence, Sesane has struggled for game-time along with Sandile Mthethwa and others.
At only 23, he is seen as one for the future, with the club understood to be willing to send him to a club where his career can progress in the same way they did with the likes of Boitumelo Radiopane and Azola Tshobeni.
"The club will be looking for opportunities elsewhere for Thabiso Sesane so that he can get as much game-time as possible. He is a player with a bright future and that's why the club is looking at placing him at a good team where his game can improve," a source revealed.
"The initial plan was to send him on loan in January, but there was a change on that, and it was decided that he should stay until at least the end of the season. He is a good young boy and there is no rush on him," the source concluded.
