Orlando Pirates are close to finalising their decision on Souaibou Marou after he failed to make an impact at the club, Soccer Laduma has learnt.
It has been over 12 months since the marksman arrived at Bucs amid much fanfare after he scored goals for Coton Sport in Cameroon, but so far, he has failed to live up to the expectations. The 23-year-old hasn't played a single match in the league this season and is down the pecking order in Jose Riveiro's line-ups.
The club has been open to sending him on loan but have struggled to get potential suitors, according to sources, with a real possibility now being to release him to resurrect his career possibly back home.
"The Cameroonian striker at Pirates is no longer in the club's plans and he is unlikely to be with the team when the season resumes. Because he is still young, the club had hoped to get a team to send him on loan, but that didn't materialise, and that's probably because he hasn't been seen playing and people are reluctant," revealed a source.
"He is the only one for now who is likely to leave from the two guys from Cameroon and his countryman (Bienvenu) Eva Nga is likely to stay until the end of the season," the source added.
