The remaining few matches of the season could be crucial in deciding the future of one of the Orlando Pirates defenders.

As reported in edition 1065 of Soccer Laduma, Marc van Heerden appears to be one of the players faced with an exit from Pirates.
With the 2017/18 season nearing its final stages, and with the defender still struggling for game time, an indication is that the player could be allowed to move on with his career.
The left-back has made only three official appearances – two in the league and one in the Telkom Knockout so far this season.
His last match was back in November last year, against Golden Arrows, as he is not in the picture this campaign under coach Milutin Sredojevic's mentorship.
Innocent Maela, who has been called up to Stuart Baxter's Bafana Bafana squad for the Four Nations tournament to take place in Zambia this week and on the weekend, has been a preferred choice for the left fullback position in Sredojevic's team.

"Marc van Heerden is unlikely to stay with Pirates beyond this season. He will be on his way out of the club at the end of the season. Expect him to return to one of his former teams," said the source.
The former AmaZulu player has been linked with a return to Chippa United. The player has been itching for game time, if some of his recent tweets are anything to go by
