As Orlando Pirates will be out to defend their Nedbank Cup trophy against Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend, some of the players will be hoping to hear from the Soweto giants regarding their futures and one of them is Thabang Monare.
Monare is entering the final month of his contract with the Buccaneers and indications are that the club hasn't yet advised if the deal will be extended.

The experienced midfielder, who has been with Bucs since 2020 having joined for the now defunct Bidvest Wits, had his previous contract extension done last year when the club added one year to the deal after the original one finished.
Despite being in the Bafana Bafana set-up in recent months, having also been part of the team during the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast earlier this year, Monare has found the going tough at Pirates as far as game time is concerned.
The veteran midfielder has made only 11 DStv Premiership appearances this season.
Apart from a seven-minute appearance against Polokwane City in March, the 34-year-old had last played in the league in November.
The Embalenhle-born player's last official match for Bucs was in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 round in February against Crystal Lake FC.
Recent reports have suggested that Monare's name might have made it into the list of potential targets for newly promoted Magesi FC.
However, Siya sources in the know have confirmed that there are no plans for the central midfielder to join the Limpopo outfit.
"I am aware of the plans for Magesi regarding the players targeted for the new season and Monare's name isn't there," said the source.

"I can assure you that his name hasn't been discussed at this stage. There are a few other players that have been linked with the club and one of them is Andile Jali but for him too, there have been no discussions," the source concluded.
As reported by the Siya crew, SuperSport United, Cape Town City and AmaZulu are some of the clubs that Monare has been linked to in recent weeks.
