The agent of Mamelodi Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena has confirmed to the Siya crew that Al Ahly have not made contact yet for his services, despite reported interest.
The midfielder is understood to have attracted interest in both Africa and Europe, after his stellar performances for Bafana Bafana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Egyptian giants are believed to be interested in the box-to-box man, but agent Glyn Binkin has revealed to this publication that there has been no official contact from the reigning African champions, who have Percy Tau on their books.
Mokoena has a contract with the Brazilians until June 2026.
"No (there has been no contact from Al Ahly)," Binkin stated when quizzed by the crew.
"Mokoena has been focused on Afcon and now that he will return to Sundowns, we will assess all the options available to him. But he remains under contract at Sundowns until 30 June 2026," he added.
Indications are that the Red Devils will look at making an official offer at the end of the season, as they are determined to add the 27-year-old to their squad for next season. By the looks of things, however, they have a challenge on their hands with the interest coming from France and England.
The reigning DStv Premiership Player of the Season featured in all of the matches for Hugo Broos' men at the biennial showpiece and was named in the Team of the Tournament compiled by Sofascore.
