European Club Wants Pirates Youngster Without A Trial

With his continued improved performances for the Orlando Pirates DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team and his impending promotion to the senior team, one Bucs youngster has now attracted interest from a Belgian top flight side, the Siya crew has been informed by insiders privy to information.

Siya sources very close to the player and Pirates have indicated that Belgian Pro League side Standard Liege could have tabled an offer for young forward Mohau Nkota.

The sources added that the club has proposed the youngster should move to Europe as soon as possible if Pirates agree to their offer.

"It's not a surprise that this particular club had made this offer. You know there have been other teams monitoring and inquiring about him but nothing went further. This time around this Belgian team's interest is serious," said the Siya source.

"They have proposed that if all goes well then they can have the player even before the end of the season. Yes, he has been doing very well and he has a very great future ahead of himself.

"This is just the start of more good things to come," the source told Soccer Laduma.

A second Siya source added that since Nkota has been training with the senior team then his performances in the DDC has also improved, so much so that this offer from Standard Liege is not a shock.

"He has been on top of his game. Himself, Jabulani Mokone, Azola Matrose and Relebohile Mofokeng have really shown that they are mature now and can play at any level," said the second Siya source.

"Since he has been with the main team there has been growing interest in him and now this Belgian side wants him. They don't want him to go for trials at all. They apparently want him straight up on a permanent move," the source added.

The Siya crew has previously covered the progress of Nkota, moving up from the DDC team to first team training.

Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
