Babina Noko may offer Linda Mntambo a new two-year deal as his current contract with the club is set to expire at the end of June this year.

Sources close to the player and the club have indicated how the potential deal might be progressing.

"There had been talks even when he was not playing. He initially had signed a two-year contract which is coming to an end in June this year so they have offered him another two years until June 2026. The way things are going, the deal is imminent and as good as done," said the Siya source.

"The club is happy with him and the way he has recovered. You know he is the club captain and they want to keep him as much as they can hence the two years for now as they are also considering his age. He is 34 and in 2027 he will be 36.

"So it's not a bad deal at all," the source told Soccer Laduma.

A second Siya source added that apart from just playing on the field they are also looking at boosting the club image and he is one players that promotes the brand Sekhukhune United.

"He markets the team very well. He is a player they need even outside the playing field to market and promote the team. He has recovered from injury now and he can play but even when he was not playing he was like the face of the club and that's why they want to keep him on for another two years. The new deal is obviously on the cards and both parties are happy with what is happening," the source observed.

Soccer Laduma contacted Sekhukhune United for comment but no response was received by the time this story was published.
