Mothiba Tipped To Turn Down China For Europe

The insiders added that Mothiba was initially engaging with a Chinese club, while training with Mamelodi Sundowns.

"Yes, there was that interest and inquiry from China but Lebo (Mothiba) is saying he has a much better offer but didn't give me a hint of the possible destination though it is in Europe. At the moment that's what he is looking at and it seems it's a good offer compared to what the Chinese club was offering. Let's wait and see where it is in Europe and we will take it from there," the Siya source stated.

A second source explained that Mothiba's time at the Brazilians is primarily to maintain his fitness while he awaits a European opportunity.

"As for Sundowns, though it's believed that they initially had offered him a short six months deal but things didn't work out as planned and that's why they apparently have not registered him with the PSL yet but he is still there training with them to keep himself fit as he awaits that offer from Europe in the next transfer window period. But he can move at any time because he is a free agent," the second source revealed.

Kaizer Chiefs were also once linked with interest in Mothiba, but those discussions did not progress with all the concerned parties.
