Word reaching this publication is that Kaizer Chiefs will look at keeping Edmilson Dove beyond the expiration of his contract in June.
Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung revealed to the Siya crew earlier this week that the club has an option in the contract of the Mozambican international, who was part of the Africa Cup of Nations squad for his national team. The Mambas have since been knocked out of the competition.
The dreadlocked player has been one of the vital cogs in the team since Cavin Johnson took over as interim coach and it's believed that management will open talks with the former Cape Town City defender discuss the possibility of exercising the one-year option in his contract.
They are keen on having him at the club for at least another season. In an interview with the Siya crew this week, Motaung said, "We are proud of him. That's why we have brought him into the squad. He is a quality player and he has experience. We are proud that he is representing his country and the Kaizer Chiefs brand.
"We are not worried (about losing him). If there is interest, obviously we will look at the offer, if there is an offer for him. But at the moment, we are confident he is still with the club. We still have a long way to go with him. We've got an option on his contract, so it's not like we are panicking."
