The Three Clubs Interested In Pirates' Midfielder

The Three Clubs Interested In Pirates' Midfielder

An injury suffered toward the end of last season has kept Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele out of action and has also hampered a potential loan move for the first half of the season.

As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, Pirates had plans to loan Mosele out again this season, as they did in the last campaign when he went to Chippa United.

However, insiders have now indicated that Mosele is recovering from injury, and the recent problem was that no team was interested in signing an injured player.

The sources added that there were teams interested in him, but when the issue of the injury came up, no club was willing to take the risk.

The sources noted that there were three clubs interested in having Mosele on loan, which included Chippa United, Stellenbosch FC, and Sekhukhune United. The player will have to wait until he fully recovers from his injury.

"A loan move was on the cards for Mosele. There were teams which were interested to have him on loan and there were talks going on but then due to his injury, clubs were reluctant to sign him.  I can tell you that Chippa United wanted him back and Stellies and Sekhukhune United were also inquiring about his services," said the Siya source.

"It's bad for him and for those teams as well because they would have used his services as his chance of playing regularly at Pirates this season is very slim. Maybe in January once he recovers he could join a team on loan. But for now, he has to wait and fully heal first," the source added.

Though, when he recovers he may still have the opportunity to gradually prove himself at Bucs. Meanwhile, a second source stated that the coach Jose Riveiro has his preferred midfield choices of Thalente Mbatha, Makhehlene Makhaula, Patrick Maswanganyi, and at times Miguel Timm.

"Even if he recovers from injury the chances of him playing ahead of the other midfielders is difficult. So that's why the team wanted him to go on loan. They will wait for him to heal from the injury and then see what happens in the January transfer window," the second source observed.

Speaking to the media ahead of their CAF Champions League win over Jwaneng Galaxy of Botswana, coach Riveiro stated that both Mosele and striker Zakhele Lepasa are recovering from their respective injuries and could be ready soon.

Since the transfer window has closed, Mosele can only be loaned out in the next transfer window in January, and he will be pushing to get a look into the team.

Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for comment, but there was no response at the time of preparing this story.
