Arrows Star Fired? 'He Has Not Signed A Pre-Contract'

Thabani Zuke has not signed a pre-contract, according to Mike Makaab.

An update has been given on Golden Arrows defender Thabani Zuke, with recent reports suggesting he has been axed by the club for signing a pre-contract with rivals AmaZulu.

Reports emerged last week that Arrows have released Zuke and Zimbabwean striker Knox Mutizwa.

It was alleged that Zuke has signed a pre-contract with KZN rivals AmaZulu, but agent Mike Makaab has come out to make it clear that the 26-year-old has not penned a deal elsewhere.

Zuke, who has made 13 appearances in all competitions, has missed Arrows' last four matches. Makaab said to the Siya crew that the player is still with the KZN outfit.

"We started representing Thabani Zuke and one thing I can tell you is that he has not signed a pre-contract with any football club," Makaab said to Soccer Laduma.

"We have not entered into discussions with any football club. We respect the contract the contract has with the football club. At the end of the day, if the player is happy and the club is happy, the first port of call will always be the club he is currently playing for. Unless there is a breakdown in the relationship. So, he is still with the club."

A source, meanwhile, told the Siya crew that Mutizwa is not training with Arrows, though it's unclear why the club has sidelined him.

"He's not sure why this is happening. He has not left. He has just been told not to train," an insider said.
