Tyroane Sandows Has Been Training With Gremio's First Team

Young South African attacker, Tyroane Sandows, is working his way up the ranks in Brazil, and has recently been spending time training with Gremio's first team.

The 21-year-old – who has played for South Africa's U20s and was named in an U23 squad last year – had a tough season last campaign as he battled injuries, scoring two goals and grabbing two assists for Gremio's youth side.

Now, however, after getting himself back to full fitness he is focusing on the season ahead, even being rewarded with the chance to train alongside the club's senior side of late.

Gremio finished third in last year's Brasileiro (Brazil top-flight league) and second in the Gaucho (the top-flight league in the state of Rio Grande do Sul), and Sandows will be eager to try and break into Roger Machado's matchday squad at some stage.

With South Africa's U23s being drawn against Brazil – where Sandows has lived for nearly a decade – in the Olympic games, the attacker could be on Owen da Gama's list of players to get in touch with.

Sandows, who scored a hattrick for SA's U20s in the U20 AYC last year, will have an extensive knowledge of some of his counterparts in the Brazil U23 set-up and could be of use to OdG going into their Olympic group.
