Egyptian giants, Al Ahly, secured the Premier League title on Monday night as Al Masry drew 0-0 with El Entag El Harby, winning it with six games left to go as they sit pretty on top of the table.
Mahlambi played his 11th game of the season at the weekend as they made it 15 wins in a row, and this morning he and his teammates woke up as a champion of Egypt.
The 20-year-old has contributed to six goals for his side during the course of the season so far – one goal and five assists – and he will now be hoping to get even more time out on the field, given that the league title has been won.
Ahly are expected to receive their trophy, a 40th league win for them, after the international break when they face Tanta, a side battling relegation.
The Egyptians join the likes of Rangers, Linfield, Penarol, Olimpia and Olympiacos on the list of teams to have won their domestic league on 40 occasions.
Mahlambi now has back-to-back league wins after winning the Absa Premiership with Bidvest Wits last year.
