Brighton Hove Albion coach Graham Potter has provided a crucial update on Percy Tau ahead of the Seagulls match against Chelsea on Tuesday.
Tau is back in contention for a place in the Brighton squad and recently returned to training after completing his mandatory 10-day isolation period after playing for Bafana Bafana in their crucial AFCON qualifiers against Ghana and Sudan.
Ahead of Brighton's trip to Stamford Bridge, Potter painted a gloomy picture of Tau's chances of featuring against Thomas Tuchel's high-flying Blues, owing to a lack of training.
"Everybody is available and fit apart from those who are long-term absentees – Aaron Connolly is available for the squad after a good week of training.
"Percy Tau is out of quarantine but hasn't had too much time on the training pitch," Potter told the media.
It has been two months since Tau last featured in a Brighton shirt, having last played back in February in Brighton's 1-0 loss to Leicester Cup in a fifth round FA Cup tie.
Tau recently opened up on his lack of game time since rejoining Brighton from RSC Anderlecht where he was on loan in January, amid talk that he could be one of nine players leaving the Seagulls at the end of the season.
