George Lebese is currently sitting with a 100% win ratio with Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC following his move to the United States, but he'll never forget the role Kaizer Chiefs played in his career…
The 31-year-old's debut campaign in the United Soccer League has been halted due to the Coronavirus outbreak around the world, with the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns man having played 90 minutes in the opening game of the season before the division was brought to a standstill.
Lebese's side won their first game 2-1 against OKC Energy and are currently fifth in the Western Conference, but now he and his teammates are being forced to stay fit at home as they wait for the resumption of football whenever that may be.
While in the lockdown, 'Geeza' has opened up about the mutual love between himself and the Amakhosi faithful despite his decision 'that was not ok for the team at that time', insisting that he will always be a fan.
In two tweets on his official Twitter account, the former Amakhosi star said, "The truth is I'm going keep attaching myself to a team that gave me a big break because of the love, but the big problem is I made a decision that was not ok for the team at that time, but the support and love I still get from the fans is for life.
"I wasn't asking for a return, I thank KC for the opportunity but I'm Switchbacks FC happily now."
There are no indications yet as to when the USL will return.
