A South African defender who has been plying trade abroad in recent months has joined former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City midfielder Riyaad Norodien in his latest deal.
Having left Mzansi in 2020 for KF Trepca 89 in Kosovo after a stint with Royal Eagles, former Maritzburg United defender Happy Mashau has surfaced at Democratic Republic of the Congo club DC Motema Pembe to further his career.
Motema Pembe is Norodien's current club, with the 26-year-old Cape Town-born winger having joined the team in October last year.
Football agent Kenneth Yamongbe confirmed to the Siya crew that he and his partner Lebogang Mashishi facilitated Mashau's deal.
"Happy Mashau who previously played for KF Trepca 89 in Kosovo has signed with DC Motema Pembe in DRC," he said.
"DCMP are the 12-time league champions in DRC and are a big club, the giants of that country's football. DCMP is the same club that Riyaad (Norodien) signed for last year. The deal has been facilitated by my partner Lebogang 'Guluva' Mashishi (and I) of B N International Sports Agency," added Yamongbe.
Yamongbe further confirmed that Mpumelelo Hlatshwayo who was last on the books third division Czech Republic club SK Nymburk could be set to join his countrymen at the DRC outfit, as well as Lesotho international midfielder Luciano Matsoso who previously also played in Mzansi.
