Tau has played 17 Pro League games for Brugge in his debut season there following a loan move from Brighton Hove Albion, but still awaits his first league start of the year after he fell down the pecking order under Philippe Clement.
The 25-year-old staked his claim for more game-time on Saturday night though as he laid on the assist – his first since December – for Mats Rits that secured a dramatic late win for the league leaders against Waasland-Beveren after coming on in the 58th minute, sending them nine points clear of KAA Gent in second place.
Bafana head coach, Molefi Ntseki, will be hoping for more of the same from Tau in the coming weeks in the build-up to next month's double-header against São Tomé e Príncipe in South Africa's next 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Brugge have just four games left of the regular season before the championship round commences, and have put themselves in a strong position for the league title given their impressive run of just one defeat all season.

Next up for Tau, however, is a monster clash with English Premier League giants, Manchester United, on Thursday night as they return to UEFA Europa League action in the home leg of their UEL Round of 32 tie.
