Bafana's Kermit Erasmus Looks To Have Found Himself A New Club In Portugal

Bafana Bafana international, Kermit Erasmus, looks to be on the verge of a move to Portugal, with the Siya crew being informed that a deal could be finalised this week. Read: Sundowns Starlet Targets Chiefs The 28-year-old joined AFC Eskilstuna back in March after leaving Stade Rennais in France, joining the club on a short-term basis as a way to get playing due to the fact that he left Rennes outside of the transfer window. Now, having impressed in Sweden with his performances – and scoring a couple of goals – Erasmus is now in Portugal to wrap up a deal with an as yet unnamed Primeira Liga outfit, with the deal expected to be wrapped up in the coming days. The crew spoke to Vasili Barbis, the agent facilitating the move, who confirmed that he was currently in Portugal with the attacker to finalise things, explaining that he is set to have a medical and sign the deal by close of business on Thursday. It is thought that the delay is being caused due to the fact that today is a public holiday in Portugal, although it should be completed when things get back underway on Thursday. Erasmus will be eager to get things back on track this season with his new club as he eyes a return to the national team under Stuart Baxter ahead of next year's African Cup of Nations.
